Which AI tools do top agents use, and which ones changed a number?

Updated October 2026. Figures as of September 2026.

NAR doesn't single out top agents, but it does survey its members. In 2025, 58% of respondents had used ChatGPT, 20% Gemini, 15% Copilot and 3% Claude (US, NAR, September 2025). By 2026, 23% of agents used AI daily and 25% weekly, and among agents who use it, the top uses were writing listing descriptions (75%), social media posting (56%) and emails and follow-up (52%) (US, NAR, September 2026).

Which tool changed a number is harder. No public survey we found links a tool to a measured result. NAR asks only whether AI helped, and 55% of respondents said it had a positive impact on their business (US, NAR, September 2026). The closest we can come is three of our own members' stories, below, in which they prepared with Claude.

Which AI tools do agents use most?

NAR's 2025 survey is the newest edition with a public tool-by-tool count (US, NAR, September 2025). The full 2026 report is in NAR's online store, and its public news release groups the tools together: 41% of agents used AI-generated content tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot and Gemini (US, NAR, September 2026).

The survey covers NAR members in the US. CREA, the Canadian Real Estate Association, doesn't publish a comparable count of its members' AI use that we could find.

What do agents use AI for?

Saving time is the main reason agents take up technology: 81% named it as their primary goal in 2026, up from 66% a year earlier (US, NAR, September 2026).

Most of the top uses are writing. The tool drafts and you check, because NAR's Code of Ethics still requires REALTORS® to "present a true picture in their advertising, marketing, and other representations" (NAR, January 2026). In Canada, CREA says adopting AI "does not alleviate the professional responsibilities of REALTORS®" (CREA, August 2026).

In Canada, 59.2% of workers in finance, insurance, real estate, rental and leasing used generative AI tools at work in the 12 months to March 2026, against 35.9% of all workers (Statistics Canada, July 2026). That industry group is much wider than agents alone.

Which ones changed a number?

No public survey we found measures which AI tool changed which number in an agent's business. NAR asks agents whether AI had an impact. In 2025, 17% said a significantly positive one, 33% moderately positive and 46% no noticeable impact (US, NAR, September 2025). In 2026, 55% of respondents said AI had a positive impact on their business (US, NAR, September 2026).

Neither year ties that impact to a tool, or to a number such as listings won. The stories below are the cases we can name.

What did our members do with AI?

Yolanda Ames "had Claude research the seller the night before. He said 48 hours and called back in two" (Jumpstart member story, approved by the member, September 2026).

Adrian Bidulescu's story: "brand new, out-prepared agents with years more experience and won a Galveston listing." He "used Claude to pull the market data together, so every answer was in his hand before he knocked" (Jumpstart member story, approved by the member, September 2026).

Holly Hernandez and Emily Kung's story: "one Claude page, then time to hear the sellers out before talking numbers. Both deals closed." Holly "used Claude to put every number and repair item on one page her sellers could read on a phone" (Jumpstart member story, approved by the members, September 2026).

Where can I try these tools?

AI Back Office sets up Claude with reusable briefs for client emails and listing prep. Seller Portal is one Claude prompt that builds a private page for a seller whose listing is sitting.
